Apple Crumble (dairy,gluten,refined-sugar free)
There is nothing better in the fall than the smell of warm baked apples coming out of your kitchen. I am a sucker for any type of baked apples and absolutely love apple crumble with a little vanilla ice cream. This recipe is enjoyed by everyone in our family and I hope it will be enjoyed by yours as well.

- 8 small medium apples, peeled, cored and chopped.
- dash of lemon juice
- 1/2 cup coconut sugar
- 1 tbs arrowroot starch
- 1/2 tsp cinnamon
- pinch of sea salt
Topping:
- 1/3 cup coconut sugar
- 1/2 cup gluten free flour blend
- 1/2 cup gluten free oats
- 1/4 cup almond meal
- 1/4 tsp cinnamon
- pinch of sea salt
- 1/3 cup butter or non-dairy butter such as Earth Balance
Instructions:
- Preheat oven to 375 degrees F and lightly grease a 9x9 baking dish.
- Add apples to a large bowl and sprinkle with lemon juice. Toss to coat with coconut sugar, arrowroot, cinnamon and salt.
- Transfer to baking dish and set aside.
- In another bowl add coconut sugar, flour, almond meal, oats, cinnamon and sea salt. Add the melted butter and mix until it resembles wet sand.
- Sprinkle topping over the apples and bake until apples are soft and topping is golden brown (between 45 min to an hour).
- Let rest for 10-15 minutes before serving.
- Top with vanilla ice cream and caramel sauce!
