Crock pot pulled pork

This is such a great, affordable meal that you can throw in the crock pot and walk away.  My entire family loves it and the leftovers are so versatile! Sandwiches, soups or even on top of a salad it taste delicious.  You can add your favorite bbq sauce on top which we do occasionally or even eat it plain since the flavors really come out slow cooking it all day long.
Ingredients:

  • 4 lbs bone in pork shoulder
  • 2 tbs smoked paprika
  • 1 tbs sea salt
  • 2 tbs chili powder
  • 2 tbs cumin
  • 1 tbs ground black pepper
  • 1 tbs oregano
  • 1 tbs parsley
  • 2 tsp onion powder
Instructions:
  1. Mix all of the above ingredients in a small mixing bowl.  Mix it well making your spice rub.
  2. Massage the spice rub all over the meat.
  3. Refrigerate for at least three hours, or overnight if you can.
  4. Place the meat in the crockpot and add 1/4 cup water.
  5. Cook on low for 8-10 hours or until the meat is fork-tender.
  6. Transfer your roast to a cutting board.
  7. Pull the meat apart by tearing into thin shreds with two forks.
  8. Serve and enjoy.  We enjoy it plain or you can add your favorite bbq sauce.
