Bacon wrapped dates
I have heard this appetizer also referred to as Date-Devils..... I find that a pretty suiting name since they are so much trouble! I will admit that I never used to care for dates. I guess anything wrapped in bacon changes that! This is a ridiculously easy appetizer and will impress any guest. You can stuff the date with almonds or even blue cheese. Just beware, you will want to eat the whole plate!
Ingredients:
12 slices bacon ( we use Hormel since it is gluten free and nitrate free)
24 pitted Medjool dates
1. Cut slices of bacon in half
2. Wrap the bacon around the date
3. Place then on parchment-lined baking tray
4. Bake for 20 minutes in a 350 degree oven. Then broil for another 5 minutes. Watch closely since they can burn easily.
5. Cool for at least 5-10 minutes. Don't skip this step! I know they smell amazing but you will burn the heck out of your mouth!
